Performance Wear
You will receive a special TOP Starz T-shirt when you register and this will be your performance top. If you would like to "modify" your T-shirt with rhinestones, etc. you may do so within reason, but please don't make a contest out of who can decorate it the most. Performance bottoms should be black and can be whatever you are most comfortable dancing in (booty shorts, athletic shorts, jazz pants, etc.) This year the routine will be a contemporary/jazz number. Appropriate footwear includes jazz/lyrical shoes, Dance Paws, footUndeez, etc., preferably tan in color.
Closed Rehearsals
All rehearsals will be closed to public viewing. This includes parents, grandparents, teachers, studio directors, brothers, sisters, friends, etc. If your child is not mature enough to attend rehearsal without parental supervision then unfortunately he or she may not quite yet be ready to participate. Closed rehearsal helps keep the kids focused and encourages them to mingle and make friends. We also want the final performance to be a surprise for everyone.
Other Important Information
Rehearsals will be held within the Branson Convention Center in the same general area as the competition. Look for signs to direct you upon your arrival to register. Please bring a full bottle of water with you to each rehearsal, and you might also consider bringing a small snack for the longer rehearsals. Note also that some rehearsals have been scheduled while competition is going on. You must make sure that the choreographer knows when you may need to miss any part of a rehearsal due to competition. Come expecting to have fun, make new friends and work hard.
